Review on Tiger Eye Patriotic Helmet Mirror by Zachary Caldwell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Installation is either easy or difficult depending on your spatial intelligence and helmet

I had a mirror with Velcro which stuck and fell off in the sun as the glue softened. I bought this one because it seemed like it would snap in place and be immune to heat. The instructions seemed simple when I looked at the tiny card that came with the kit, but I couldn't figure it out. Then I watched a ridiculous YouTube video that is basically a mini ad for the mirror you just bought. The moment of installation - a second behind the scenes! I kept looking at the map and it finally dawned on me. It didn't quite snap into place and the mirror wasn't very close to where I wanted it to be, but I adjusted it with pliers and it seems pretty good. Bending wires to fit a curved foam and plastic helmet isn't my forte, but I managed it. The mirror seems to be very well attached to the wire. I've moved it many times without losing stiffness. My previous mirror had a screw that needed tightening and often came loose. This one seems to stay in place without a screw. It's not bad for the price once you put it on and it feels pretty solid. I think the "Patriot" part is the red, white, and blue flag pattern on the back of the mirror, which wasn't listed. It is excellent. I thought there were small bikes, but that doesn't matter. Now that it's on, my biggest complaint is that the wire is inside the helmet and creates a bit of pressure that can get more frustrating on long rides.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
