Review on 🧰 Remodel Recessed Housing with Available Voltage by David Jones

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value for money - BEWARE OF THE CANALS!

Escutcheon was ordered for Hyperikon 4" backbox. You were for a second project I did.The first required white reflectors which I believe were also from Torchstar the difference was the bright steel reflectors not the white reflectors.I thought the design would be identical but it is not really.with this pad.EXCEPT FOR THE PINS.These pins serve to hold the pad in place, which they do.But if you just push them in, the pins dig into the recessed glass and practically refuse to come out after installation.I discovered this when I inserted one to compare the look of the reflector with the white baffle. When I try Trying to remove it, it just wouldn't come out. It took a Herculean effort to get him out b him. SAID IT. There is a solution. If you have a good pair of electrician's pliers, squeeze the spring pins together so they don't stick out too far, which reduces the pressure of the spring on the glass. After that, the sleeve fits tightly into the jar, but does not resist the exit. The white-studded Torchstar doesn't have the same tine system and didn't need this setup. Overall pretty good value for money. I could have given it 5 stars if it weren't for those poorly designed tines. You can spend a lot more on fake rings that don't look any better. Just test the install/remove pins before inserting 30 of them without testing. I'm just saying.

Pros
  • πŸ’‘Decoration to cover miscuts and oversized holes, to cover unsightly and torn drywall caused by removing an existing escutcheon
Cons
  • Not bad but...
