You are good if you like such fragrant things.
I wouldn't have bought them if I had known they smelled. I'm often allergic to artificial fragrances (Febreze in particular) so I have to keep them in the closet or I get a headache. They're pretty strong. If you don't have a problem with smells, they're doing their job. They're not exactly puncture-proof (I accidentally poked a few holes in them with my thumb), but they hold up odd-shaped debris quite well and keep bad odors out pretty well (I've had pretty smelly stuff in those pockets, and all I really feel , is that it is a taste).
