Adhesion is very good. Comes with no instructions for attaching adhesive discs to the back of the metal wall plate. But I would suggest wiping the surface you are mounting on with rubbing alcohol as well as the back of the metal plate. The individual spice containers stay in place when attached to the metal backing. My disappointment is the amount of memory. Description says 3 oz. It should say "Capacity up to 3 ounces". The containers don't hold 3 ounces and that was one of the main reasons I ordered them. Most of the spices I buy come in 2.5 ounce bottles or smaller. The metal containers could not hold 2.5 ounces of ground spices or herbs. If the containers didn't have a strainer/pour feature, you could fit 2.5 ounces of ground spice. If you fill the containers to the brim, the spices will fall out of the spout and strainer holes. When it comes to dried herbs in shredded leaf form, forget to add even an ounce to the container. I could put less than a half ounce of thyme leaves from a new .75 ounce bottle in one of the metal containers. I rather defeated the purpose of ordering this product as I now have spices/herbs in metal jars and half full bottles in my cupboard.
