The day I received this silk pillowcase I was pleased - it was very soft and the perfect size for my buckwheat pillow. The same day I gently hand washed it in cold water to smooth out the wrinkles and prepare it for use. As soon as I hung it out to dry, I noticed that it was separating from the center of the pillowcase. I'm sure it wasn't my fault - I didn't wash the pillow, I just soaked it in a bucket of clean, low temperature water. Otherwise I slept on the fabric for almost two weeks and it was a miracle for my skin and hair! I highly recommend silk for this purpose and I will continue to use this pillowcase as it is still holding up nicely except for a slight fraying in the middle of the pillowcase.
