As soon as you take the filter out of the packaging you will immediately recognize that it says Budget Filter. Not the quality I expected from K&N on the box. Compared to the OEM filter, Fram and some other popular competitors, this filter has thinner plastic ends and thinner paper media. Even the box is eloquent, it says 'Silver Line' which I take to mean 'cheap' and the graphics are quite pixelated and low quality. The silver line is not advertised in the product description, so I feel a little cheated considering I purchased "K&N Premium Oil Filter" (straight from the product name). I can say with confidence that this is not a premium line of K&N oil filters. I've used their other filter cartridges (that weren't their Silver Line) and they compare well to OEM quality; not this one. Now that it's out of the way, there's nothing that makes me doubt its use - it's a serviceable oil filter, and it's not so cheap that I feel like it's going to fall apart in use. But I will definitely not exceed the recommended oil change interval! However, there is no indication of the country of origin anywhere on the packaging or the filter itself, which I believe is a violation of US trade/import laws. . The box states the product's country of origin, but there is no marking on the filter.
