TENS relief without small pads or wires. Since my only problem is neck pain, this works for me. It is not universal like some other devices that can be used on other parts of the body. However, it's small, slim, and unobtrusive enough that I can wear it when I'm working from home or walking around. It looks like it could be headphones. The remote control is absolutely necessary for the operation of the device; It's not an add-on that you use occasionally. Luckily, there's a magnet that holds the remote to the main body. It is on the side without the start button. The remote control technology is quite outdated and cheaply made. It definitely works fine. I have a wire and sticky pad TENS unit that has the same level of Tech-Vit and has worked well for several years. However, this is not that easy to use. About heating - be careful with it. Like a fool, I used it on the highest setting for three 15 minute sessions on the first day. I have two red spots on my neck. No real damage was done, but I won't overuse it again in high heat. Overall I am very happy with this device and would recommend it for neck pain relief.
