This product does not ship with an AC adapter that is required for operation. It requires 12V DC with a round tip adapter and they are not usually found around the house. Therefore, this product cannot be otherwise used or verified. I understand it doesn't come with a 3.5mm to Co-Ax/RCA cable. This could be explained. However, the missing power supply is a pretty serious problem that was not mentioned in the product description. I bought a 12v universal adapter at my local Walmart store to see if it would work at all. There is very strong static noise and the volume control is very sensitive. The volume steps are quite long. If you move the volume slider a little, the volume will increase significantly.
