Non-stick coatings are very sensitive and must be handled with care. Look at the bottom of the pot and you will most likely notice a sharp ridge on the rim of an aluminum plate. If you stack the pans on top of each other, that sharp edge (which you can use to peel carrots) will instantly damage the nonstick coating. These dishwashing pads absolutely protect that finish you spent good money on. They are nice and thick, large in size, easy to handle and protect your investment for many years. They also make stacked pans quiet when stored.
