If you have an iPhone 8 or newer or the latest iPad Mini (2019), you should consider getting this car charger. Both devices can use a high-speed USB-C charger. This is significantly faster than the charger you probably have in your car right now that uses the Lightning cable. We have two boys who have their own iPad Minis and often take car trips that last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. With a USB-C charger, you can significantly charge your device in that short amount of time. I haven't measured it, but I think you can charge your device more than 50% in an hour. Before using this fast charger, the old-fashioned flash charger in our car was only used for charging during a long drive. That said, we connected the iPad in such a way that it doesn't lose a significant portion of its charge when we wander around town. Now with a USB-C charger, when we plug them in, they can charge a significant amount, even if the guys are using them at the same time. This charger is for a fee. Your old Lightning to Lightning cables won't work. We used two JSAUX cables (https://www.amazon.com/JSAUX-Lightning-Certified-Charging-Compatible/dp/B07RDPNWRR) and they fit fine. Like the iPad for boys, this upgrade is a luxury but worth the small investment for peace of mind.
