I have a very unusual tower. Have had it since the early 2000s. The power switch decided to stop working on it. I only connected the USB because it was open on the motherboard. I left the HD and power light on the PC and only connected the reset button and power supply. This is how all original lights work. I routed a wire through the outside of the computer and attached my switch to the PC's top handle. The move was absolutely a win-win situation for me.
