Review on Keychron K2 Bluetooth Wireless Mechanical Keyboard with Gateron Brown Switch, RGB Backlit, Anti Ghosting, N-Key Rollover - Compact 75% Layout, 84 Key USB Wired Gaming Keyboard for Mac and Windows (Version 2) by Carlos Burrows

Some are bad and some are good.

First off, let me say that the height of this keyboard is much higher than any I've tried, making it imperative to use a wrist rest with this keyboard if you don't want to hurt your wrist. I've been using it for 3 days and I've already noticed my left wrist is sore and restless. I don't like using wrist rests and for this reason and others I will be returning them. Maybe someone who hasn't used quality keycaps could handle this, but the ones that come with the board are so thin that you can bend them with little effort when removing them. Even if you compare them to keyboards that are half the price, they are very thin, I would honestly say they are the thinnest I have ever used. They make the brown Gateron switches harder to press than they should feel. I replaced the keycaps as soon as I received them. However, most of the time they sound good, but sometimes you can hear a ringing noise (like spring reverb). I don't think it's the switches, but the keyboard body is more hollow, not so much, but it rarely has that sound.* Keyboard Construction The keyboard construction looks average, it's not too light but not as solid as other keyboards in its price range. I believe that most of the problems are due to the fact that this is a wireless board in this price range, they had to save and this mainly manifests itself in the fact that the keycaps and keyboard housing are more hollow. Note that it doesn't feel empty when accessed, but the ping that sometimes occurs when you type fast and hard, along with a picture I saw in another review, shows that inside the case more space than other keyboards. * Stabilizers, RGB, etc. The knobs are actually good for me, they're pre-lubricated and I know for a fact that the spacebar is clipped and makes a nice, satisfying sound *clap* when pressed down. The hits for entry, return and shift feel pleasantly soft. The RGB options are your default options on this type of board and have dimmer controls but NO speed controls for how fast the effect will be. Overall I wouldn't recommend this keyboard for this price range unless you need a wireless keyboard and even then there are better options for as little as $20-30 and I would highly recommend these options as they are very good ones Keycaps for sub-PBT keys have and have been made better.

Pros
  • With a unique Mac layout, the K2 gaming keyboard has all the essential Mac function keys and is compatible with Windows. Additional caps are included for Windows and Mac operating systems.
Cons
  • Slightly torn
