I bought this after my previous (supposedly 3.3V) serial cable stopped working after connecting to a 3.3V system. It is very nicely finished - it's in housed in a transparent case (no fear of accidental short circuits when fumbling around) and allows you to choose an output voltage of 1.8, 3.3 or 5V (not 2.5, although DSD has another block that also has 2, adds 5V). .) A cable is included that connects to the I/O port on the end of the USB adapter that terminates in the 1x1 connector pins - it is approximately 30cm long. While I'm not a fan of flashing lights, at least you know this adapter works. I've had no problem working with a Raspberry Pi as a console cable and have also successfully programmed an Arduino type 2.5V microcontroller. I'm using Linux and no drivers were needed, out of the box, just plug that in game on.
