My sofa cushions had an edge running across the front of the sofa - as seen in the photo the bedspread may have covered them. It's much better, the cushions you sit on were leather, cracked and usually fell apart. This allows me to continue using the very comfortable sofa without looking sloppy. There's little ripple due to kinking, but it looks pretty good. With most light sources you don't see that the pillowcases are black and the sofa is navy blue. So far I've had a cat for a month that digs her claws into the fabric with no sign. I think it will stay that way.
