Review on Creuset Heritage Stoneware 9 Inch Rectangular by Katrina Brown

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A feature I never thought of

I've been using my mother's Corningware ovenware for 25 years. Incidentally, the glass lids on large baking tins never sit properly and slip off at the slightest angle. Old Corningware dishes also couldn't be used in the microwave - it got too hot, but the food didn't. Ever since I retired last year, I have been passionate about cooking. Cooking is very nice when you have time to take your time! This Le Creuset ceramic cookware is beautiful to look at and far more functional than my old casseroles. But what I didn't expect at all was the non-enamelled underside of the plate. I literally had heavy, full pans slipping out of my one-handed grip when I opened the fridge door. This dish has a rough bottom, making it VERY easy to handle. I would give five stars but it's made in China. I try to buy American or European goods to support workers' rights against sweatshops. I thought I would buy a French production, but unfortunately not.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Not bad but...
