Fantastic travel case

I travel a lot for production, and I've gone through quite a few different types of cases, and nothing has ever done everything I need it to do.After some searching, I came across this Think Tank Tripod Manager 44 case, to help protect my O'Connor tripod on a project in Puerto Rico. The initial impressions is that this is a beautifully constructed case, with a solid internal frame and soft padded inner compartment, removable padding for tripods of different sizes, solid heavy duty zippers, and a extended lip on the top of the case with Velcro that covers and protects the zipper. Well appointed support rails on the back and bottom skid plate, there are handles built in all around the case, with rivets on top handle to help secure the pulling weight of the case. After returning from the project, I am happy to report that this case is truly amazing. It survived the rough and tumble handling of the baggage handlers, the external fabric was barely marred, and the handles were great to use, and the best rolling wheels in the business, that easily go over any terrain, from the uneven brick roads of Old San Juan roads, to the mixed beach/dirt roads. In summary, this purposely built equipment case for photographic/video use, is really well thought-out, solidly constructed, and will last for years of use.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Poor stability on uneven surfaces: The tripod's legs are not adjustable for different terrain, making it difficult to stabilize the camera on uneven surfaces. This can lead to shaky footage or pictures, and may make the tripod less effective for outdoor and wilderness photography
