I needed to hang a Klipsch Reference Center speaker that weighs 22 pounds and protrudes about 11 inches from the wall. I couldn't find the right size floating shelf I left behind in my old house. I bet on it and got something that did the job but sagged a bit. When I installed them I had high hopes and they seemed to be quite durable. However, mounting the speaker on it resulted in a slight downward tilt, although the vertical faces are still vertical and firmly bolted to the wall. The material itself just can't support the weight. It's easy, not very obvious unless you look for it. No one noticed or at least didn't say anything, but I do notice it every now and then and it annoys me. If you have something lighter or flatter you'll probably be fine. Otherwise, if you're a perfectionist, maybe you're looking for something stronger.
