As a claims adjuster, I appraise accident cars every day. Many of these are considered total losses and in order to determine their pre-loss value it is important to assess the vehicle's condition in many areas. Much of this is done visually and with photographic documentation. However, I also need to measure the tread depth of all 4 (or more) tires. A car with a total of 4 bare tires is worth slightly less than a car with 4 new ones. This tool can also be useful when selling your car online and can help the buyer learn more about the condition of the car. The product itself is compact, light, thin and easily fits into any pocket. It can be switched from metric to standard measurement and there is also a button to reset the previous measurement. As I photograph everything the best part is that the digital numbers are easy to read and visible in the photos. It comes with one battery installed as well as an extra battery and since the product will only be used for a few seconds at a time, it should last a very long time. An excellent product for garages and service centers as well as insurance appraisers. The Daily Joe may not need much, but it is a very good product for the money. Keep in mind that this is not an air pressure sensor, it is simply tire tread depth.
