Review on Sony D NF430 Walkman: Your Ultimate Portable Compact Music Player by Chris Benton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great player for portable CD players

Bought one of these many months ago. Then I got another one for my daughter. Unfortunately mine was stolen. Bought it at one of the Revain stores for less than $50, brand new. It looks exactly like this. The model number is the same. So why the ridiculous, inexplicable, just wrong price spike? However, I love this thing. This is my second Sony ATRAC. I got the first one years ago and it finally fell apart after years of playing, hours every day. I've used it so much that the silver finish has worn off. The little black piece holding the CD has come loose. Still, I put it back on from time to time and used it for several months until it finally stopped sticking. So I borrowed one of the cheap kids for a while. Can't handle the sound quality. So when I started looking for a replacement for mine I had no choice but to get another Sony ATRAC. My first was dropped, stepped on, thrown around in the car (before I put the CD player in the car) and other insults. He just kept playing, rarely, if ever, missing a bar. I remember once on a particularly winding road through the mountains he was thrown from his seat onto the ground and just sat and played like nothing happened until I could get him back. Well, and the radio is good. Unfortunately Weather Radio has a very limited list of channels and doesn't record anything in our remote area. The ATRAC software is very easy to use. I can put an entire band or a specific genre of music on one disc. So if I feel like jazz or chill or whatever, I can take a whole lot of music with me without having to carry my precious CD collection into the cold, rough world. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble downloading the software (I'm not good at these things, so it's probably just me). Luckily I had my old ATRAC drive the first time around and it still works great. So if you can, skip the cheap discount store deals and get this one. You can truly hear the music the way the musicians and producers intended. You will not be disappointed.
