These sockets are very well made and solve two problems: First, they fit the only chrome ball transfer unit I could find after a long search - a non-standard sized stem. a roll without a socket; and second, the rigid strength of these brackets effectively reinforces the angulation of the wooden frame/upholstered chair to which they are mounted.
