We bought a 10.5 foot ladder. This gives us access to the roof of our Sprinter van so we can easily clean the solar panels while dry camping. I measured our largest outdoor "garage" and the folded ladder fits in easily. Last year we had to borrow a ladder from a fellow van to clear snow off the retractable roof. An unexpected snow storm left a 3 inch layer of snow on the dome and we couldn't pull the clasp to get it out. Now we won't be surprised anymore.
