I wish I had taken photos of the Trailhawk hood before and after it was applied, but these photos were taken this morning - a full 24 hours later - and after one short splashes of water to remove more bird droppings. so there is some pollen and some water streaks. usually the bands do not appear after polishing. and if you saw the pre-release version, you would understand that the difference is really amazing. Around this time yesterday, my use was a spontaneous response to birds in my area using my side mirrors as pedestals for personal grooming. Laugh! So after removing the bird droppings from the mirrors and side door the bonnet decal, now 9 years old, looked pretty rough after the winter. I use 303 on him at least once every six months, but it's been a while so I washed, dried and then applied. Small note - on this sticker I noticed that if I use my fingers to apply and palms to rub it comes out amazing. but when i try to apply it with any fabric, there are stains. ergo, wipe, rub well. I didn't polish this time either. Until now before it rains for 24 hours it still shines like I use Armor All. I like it. I have a spot where bird droppings have eaten the top decal and a tiny bit of red shows through from the bottom decal and even when painted over with black paint the 303 didn't seem to protect that color. /paint and eventually it turned red again. a bigger issue with paint sticking to the decal than 303. This material also darkens the faded black wheel arch stripes and plastic, but in my case it didn't stop them from fading in the sun. although I have to say that for a 9 year old they are not silver like most cars at that age. they are more of a dark gray. and I haven't used nearly as often as the hood decal. So yes, after application, the plastic will turn black again for a while. a couple of heavy rains and they turned dark gray again. but I still protect them better than nothing or using Back to Black which only temporarily covers the surface and doesn't penetrate. I'm here to learn more about b/ci which have also been used for bike parts that are exposed to the sun and weather. sees through charcoal well and prevents dirt build-up. used on a vintage bike with great success - all the plastics, wheels, tank etc wish it would prevent clouding of plastic headlight lenses but it's a cool requirement.
