Review on πŸ”’ Genuine Hyundai 25500-23010 Thermostat Assembly: Quality and Authenticity Assured by Ted Boone

Be very careful when buying OEM for an old car like mine.

I was wrong in thinking that OEM parts are better than the stock versions at your local auto parts store. My car was overheating, the first thing I checked was the thermostat. I wanted to get it right so I bought this OEM part. However, that didn't fix it. So I took it to a repair shop and after $280 they told me it was a bad thermostat! I explained that I replaced it myself with an original part that I had just bought. He explained that this was my problem. I have a 2003 car so the OEM part sat somewhere on the shelf for 15-17 years and thermostats, even unused ones, don't last that long. won't get out of $280 for (mainly labor) repairs. Lesson learned.

Pros
  • Straight fit
Cons
  • Not as thick as others
