Hoping to get another 110,000 of this

I've driven 110,000 miles with the original thermostat with no problems and figured why not stay on the same topic, especially at the same price. I just changed the timing belt on my car and decided to replace a few other things that usually fail like the water pump, hoses and belts. The original thermostat still worked perfectly, but I didn't want to tempt fate. I have never been able to get that many miles from any of the aftermarket thermostats in the past, including the so called heavy duty

Pros
  • Exact part that came with your car
Cons
  • Clarity

Wrong part sent

The part arrived on time but wrong. The original thermostat has an opening temperature of 82Β°C. The supplied part has an opening temperature of 88C. The item shipped is smaller than the original. There is a Hyundai logo on the part, but it is about 1 cm shorter. The flange is the same so it fits the hole but it doesn't work properly for the Sonata. The part worked correctly depending on the temperature stamped on it. Other reviews said this part didn't work so I tested it before I could work on

Pros
  • OEM quality
Cons
  • Working speed

Be very careful when buying OEM for an old car like mine.

I was wrong in thinking that OEM parts are better than the stock versions at your local auto parts store. My car was overheating, the first thing I checked was the thermostat. I wanted to get it right so I bought this OEM part. However, that didn't fix it. So I took it to a repair shop and after $280 they told me it was a bad thermostat! I explained that I replaced it myself with an original part that I had just bought. He explained that this was my problem. I have a 2003 car so the OEM part…

Pros
  • Straight fit
Cons
  • Not as thick as others
