As things like LOL Surprise evolved, so did Barbie. My 9 year old loves opening packages - global warming or not, it's just that. The packaging is actually part of the kit, which is a great idea. There's a tube in the center and when you fill it with water, you'll dip Barbie, daughter and coated pets in to "reveal" what they look like. It's fun and works great. The boxes that you see in the photos as speakers and sets are packed with various things that you see in the photos. My guess is that while each item is a "surprise," each item contains the same items. It's a party in a box! It's very versatile and introduces Barbie to a new era of toys, which is very welcome for a modern 9-year-old!
