I bought this band as I am trying to control the weight of my horses this spring and summer as I have a lot of pasture. Those of you who have a weight problem with a horse know that even if they live with you like me, it can easily outrun you. The tape measure has height measurements up to 20 hands on one side and weight up to 1398 pounds on the other side. I don't know if the scale is accurate, but measuring it regularly will definitely tell you if her weight is gaining or losing. At this time of year my main riding horse can get laminitis and get very fat from too much grass. I swore to her that this would never happen to her again. This tape will help. Measuring only once a week, I found that even 6 hours a day on the lawn is too much. The first day I received it I used a tape measure to measure its circumference at the smallest point. A week later I measured her at the same circumference point and found that she had gained over 30 pounds. HOORAY! This is the wrong direction. So, aside from a horse-sized scale, this band works great. I'm glad he has an easy and quick way to accurately determine if her weight is maintaining, gaining, or losing.
