This is my third time ordering. I have to say that these are by far my favorite sleeves, but not everyone wants the same thing in their sleeves, which is why I think these are the best: they're made of soft plastic! That was important to me and I hope you get what I mean. Most other cases are a bit stiffer and make a rustling noise when folded or moved. These sleeves feel much more flexible and smooth than crumpled and hard. The closest comparison is that they feel somewhat similar to a high-end zippered pouch, while other types of cases are more like a bag of chips. In terms of quality, I've had a total of 2 out of 200 (so 1%) that ended up tearing/tearing at the seam on the edge. That was because I was trying to fit a larger spread into the sleeve, which I probably shouldn't have done. They usually hold up even when I do as they stretch a bit and I think 1% bounce is acceptable. The thickness of the case is great and I feel my records are definitely well protected in these cases. I'm also a fan that they don't have sticky valves. I know these people but I hate them. They are only open on one side which makes them easy to insert and remove or place on a shelf and also makes it easy to slide the record sleeve in and out. I have the open end facing up, but you can just as easily align the open end with the open side of the album itself (i.e. the right side) if you prefer. As for clarity, they are by no means hazy. , but compared to other cases, these aren't the most transparent cases. I would say they are like 8-9/10 for transparency. In fact, you won't notice that it's not as clean as it could be unless it's next to a crystal clear 10/10 case. The type of plastic also seems a bit less reflective (less shiny) to me, which is actually a good thing as you can view the album art through the cover without any appreciable glare. Only time will tell how transparent they will remain after a long time. I haven't had them in a very long time and I guess in a year or 10 they will be cloudy. They're a little more comfortable for thicker albums. They fit the vast majority of my recordings, but unfortunately not all of them. I've put all my spreads and even a few triple spreads in these cases and they are way better than any other case I've tried. By my count I have 2 albums that don't fit and that's because they're quite wrong (I have a 12x13 inch album for some reason for example). I definitely want it to fit all regular sized albums and gatefolds, most triple spreads, and the only albums it won't fit are custom sized or shaped albums. I have noticed that there is actually very little variation in the sizes of these envelopes and sometimes I try to put a thicker page in one of these envelopes and it turns out to be too big for the envelope, but when I then try the next envelope or two in the package, usually one of them fits a little better. In my opinion, a slight discrepancy in size is good, as thinner albums can fit slightly smaller sizes and vice versa. There is definitely a seam along the edge of the spine that stands out, but I don't think it makes the job too difficult. Read the roots and I wouldn't say it makes much of a difference. Not sure if there are sleeves without a seam down the back, but as they are made from a slightly thicker plastic I think this seam is a bit thicker than the 2mm sleeve. Overall, I think this issue will be a matter of preference, not a loss of functionality. I can still read all my spines and I don't think it bothers the point where someone can no longer read the spine through their sleeve, but I can see how it can bother other people and things a little more makes difficult. read. It's not enough for me to deduct a star.
