Need something to pair with my Fujifilm X-E1 50mm equivalent. Focal length, fast aperture and good workmanship - and all of that doesn't cost a tidy sum. This lens is perfect in every way. If you're expecting the same IQ as a similar Fujian/Fotasy 35mm f1.7 CCTV lens, you're in for a big surprise. While the old CCTV lens was fun to shoot with, the soft, blurred edges left a lot to be desired at times. This lens from Meike is a whole different beast! Very solid build quality with almost all metal construction right down to the lens cap! Focusing is smooth and the click-free aperture is great for video. The corners are sharp and not at all like the CCTV version. Vignetting and quite strong barrel distortion can be seen immediately below the aperture, both of which can be corrected. to manually enable the "Shutter without lens attachedβ function in the camera menu before taking the picture. Pros: All-metal construction, nice chrome lens mount, metal lens cap and correct plastic rear cap, fast aperture, very good image quality. very good color rendering - comes in a nice protective case Cons: - manual focus only, no electronics - vignetting at large apertures - strong barrel distortion (correctable) - Meike brand can generally mount a fixed lens, so if you shoot Sony like this Well you would have to Buy E-mount version. I highly recommend this lens for its value for money. It offers excellent build quality and features at an attractive price. This is a great, versatile lens that can be glued to your camera. It's basically a body cover for my trusty old X-E1.
