Works very well. First I had an issue where one side of the LED strip was not working properly. I should have read the seller's email better as it says to connect the LEDs before powering the unit. I unplugged the device and plugged it back in and it worked fine after that. However, the other reviewer who gave the bad rating is correct. This device is HDMI 1.4 only. To have real HDR you need more. To get around this, I bought a $30 splitter that supports HDR and downscaling. The reduced picture is sent to the synchronization unit, and the normal picture (without loss of quality) to the TV. To me, that extra outlay is still worth it as the Hue Sync box costs a lot more than you would pay for it and the splitter combined. With the splitter attached the device works very well and I don't lose the accuracy of the original video quality on the TV itself. I still give it 5 stars because I saved hundreds of dollars compared to the Hue Sync Box.
