Useless cloud-connected junk

The app needs the following before you can even set up your device: * GPS location of your phone * Your email address or phone number * Password * Verification of your email or phone number * Ability to browse your WiFi network for hosts (for a device not even connected to WiFi, it is connected to Bluetooth). Note that none of this is required to change the color of the backlight behind the TV, but the device does require it before you can change any settings on the device. Repayment.

Really worthy for its price

I bought one and installed it. My TV is 75 inches and wall mounted so it took me some time and effort to finish it. After installing and enjoying the effect I would say it was all worth it. Pros: Good product for the price. Easy to install, the tape is really strong. from the device. If you look really closely, you can feel the lighting delay of about 0.3 seconds. It won't matter much if you don't focus on the backlight. Generally small flaws but they are worth it.

Based on the reviews I thought it would just be 5 stars

When I received this I was excited but there wasn't much to install. When I cut my piece I made sure I cut off a bit to see what would happen and when I did I lost 2 strips outside of where I cut it. When I tried again to cut the length needed I lost another strip and this strip was needed for the framing. I thought I could do this with another strip for overlapping, but then that strip failed when I tried to use the corner piece. They require finesse to use, but should have more flexibility…

Doesn't work with splitter, no color accuracy

I tried this with two different EZCO HDMI splitters and neither worked. The first showed no red at all and now the second shows nothing. I checked the splitter ports with the HDMI image and they work fine. Also, the app is terrible and it took me about an hour to figure it out and get it working. Works perfectly! Just like the Hue Sync Box but at a much better price. However, there is a problem.

Works very well. First I had an issue where one side of the LED strip was not working properly. I should have read the seller's email better as it says to connect the LEDs before powering the unit. I unplugged the device and plugged it back in and it worked fine after that. However, the other reviewer who gave the bad rating is correct. This device is HDMI 1.4 only. To have real HDR you need more. To get around this, I bought a $30 splitter that supports HDR and downscaling. The reduced picture

It works and it's fun. But you need a splitter.

Everything worked fine for me. Since some people are having trouble setting up the unit, I didn't unfold the LEDs and attach them to the back of the TV as the instructions recommend. I left the LEDs coiled up and tested them that way first. This meant that if I couldn't get it to work I wouldn't have to remove the LEDs from the back of the TV. But it worked!
