Second Sword I bought a second one so I could have a backup sword, as in the Eddo period it was law that all Samurai have two swords. I am surprised and impressed by the improvements made. The metal spacer on the mouth of the saya is very secure, the blade wasn't dirty when I got it. It was covered in the kind of oil you use to polish steel, what a nice touch. It was easy to polish with my cloth. Beautiful. I am very pleased with both of my purchases. This sword also came with a sword bag with the same kanji as the other bag.First Sword The metal piece on the saya fell off the moment I unsheathed the sword for the first time. Superglue fixes that easy.The blade was actually a little dirty when I got it, but a little bit of polishing and it looks good as new.On the spacer in front of the hand guard it clearly reads "CHINA", which leads me to believe this was made in China.And, the sword bag is decent. It reads "竜神 Ryujin". "竜神" is kanji, pronounced as "Ryūjin", and means "Dragon God". I don't know why that kanji is there, the description didn't mention a sword bag. It is nice that it came with one though.The hamon is wire brushed (not a real hamon), but, it does have two mekugi pegs, which means you can swing it safely as long as you know what you're doing.I'm a beginner student of Eishin Ryu Iaijutsu, a school that teaches the art of the sword. It looks nice on my wall too. So I'd say, I'm very happy with it. I would have liked it more if the saya were one piece, but coming down to the price it's hard to expect a lot from such an inexpensive sword.
