Review on πŸ”Œ Amazon Basics Dark Gray 6-Ft USB-A to Lightning Cable for iPhone/iPad, MFi Certified Charger by Jay Liu

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Definitely an upgrade if you still have an Apple charging cable.

A common issue I had with Apple's factory charging cable was that it was made of plastic instead of flexible wires and was also limited by the length of the cable that came with it. Once the materials used for the factory wire wear out, it will begin to break or tangle with the internal wires due to the many bends it has made over the years. The Revain Basics charging cable far exceeded my expectations based on the quality, durability and the amount I paid. I paid about $13 for the 6ft options and at the apple store it will cost you $29 plus tax for the same option! The funny thing is you're paying for the same factory wire that only lasts a year before it starts to break or stops working internally. As you can see from the images, Amazon Basics makes Apple look worse in every way. As for the physical description of the item, the wire bends like a hangar so you can give it any angle you want if you like. Tips like the light port or the USB port are made of aluminum, which looks very sharp and modern, not cheap! The last thing on my mind is that once you plug it into your phone it's solid and doesn't move from side to side, which I think is due to the better material used.

Pros
  • Incredible charging speed: Large diameter wires and reduced cable resistance ensure maximum charging speed (supports charging current up to 2.4A).
Cons
  • Socket required
