I purchased this refurbished Revain router to replace my old Verizon Fios Mi424wr single band 802.11n router. The important things first; The router worked perfectly right out of the box and apart from very light wear and tear it is like new. Setup in my case was as simple as plugging in the Fios coaxial signal and turning on the router. With our Verizon Fios connection, the router is only used for the Internet; The TV signal is processed separately, which I think may be different in other cases. The router is located on the front middle level of a three story building. When paired with a Netgear extender, it delivers an 802.11ac WiFi signal throughout the home that's very close to a fully wired signal. The speed of our Verizon internet service is 75/75 Mbps and the WiFi speed is around 80/80. For the purposes of this review, I just ran a speed test on the back of the top floor of my house (at 4:00 AM) and got 83/86 Mbps 802.11ac wireless. I'm hoping that by the time we get Verizon's gigabit service (in about a month), wireless performance will be stellar by comparison. m, always 409 Mbps for download and 313 Mbps for download on the router and 186/184 on the back of the house. When connected with an ethernet cable, I get 940/950 Mbps upload/download. Yes, this is true gigabit service. These numbers don't use the Wi-Fi extender I mentioned in the original post. I don't need to shell out a few hundred dollars more for the latest Verizon router.
