Doesn't fit my Eureka Pet Lover suction hose

I measured my suction hose carefully and don't know why it doesn't fit, but it was cheap enough not to return it. So I voluntarily donated it. I may be measuring wrong so I don't want to lower them just in case it was my fault, but the actual product seemed pretty sturdy.
