Review on Stylish and Durable: Victorinox Altmont Active Backpack Burgundy - Perfect for Active Lifestyles by Kimberly Becker

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The quality is good but the configuration is very strange.

This isn't your standard backpack, so this review might be a little longer than usual. I do not really understand. It's like a mini travel backpack. It's confusing so I'll do it by listing pix.Pic 1, you can see the front side. 2 zippers on each side leading to small half-width pockets. The two padded dots on the gray strap are padded handles for this style of carrying (although I find it uncomfortable when loaded). There is a full length zip down the center that opens into a full width storage space. Inside there are 2 flat pockets suitable for a phone or similar. Inside there is another zipper (see my photo below) that gives access to the main compartment. Oddly enough, but someone might like it. If you have something in that front pocket, you still have to dodge and dig or unpack it. A lanyard clip is also sewn into the inside of the bag. Photo 2 shows where you can place the laptop. It doesn't look like the back will be heavily padded, but it is there. However, the problem is that the zipper is quite difficult. The small loops for the included "Smart Tethering System" get in the way, and when you tether it you can't get the laptop out. (See my picture below) You can also see that the main storage area's zip entry only goes about 1/3 of the way down the side. There are also plastic latches on each side at the top (see my photo below). Photo 3 is nothing new, so photo 4 is a good rear view. The advertised bottle opener can be seen at the end of the left strap. All straps are fully adjustable. And we can also skip photo 5. It comes with a weird cardboard thing inside. I don't understand at all. I suppose it might be for demo purposes to make the pack look full to show it off better. I don't see any everyday use for it at all. That makes me stupid. (See my photo) They keep advertising that it's made in Switzerland so maybe it's for young people traveling around the hostels. A good pack of clothes and minimal toiletries could have been placed there. I guess I just don't see it as very practical for school, especially if you're using a modem. Either way, it's too much for us, and the design just doesn't live up to our expectations of a laptop bag. However, it gives the impression that it is a high-quality bag. The zippers are all strong enough, they have laces. The seams are excellent - smooth, durable, without bumps, folds and gaps. I haven't had it in the rain but I used a kitchen sink hose and it repelled well. Therefore I give 3 stars. Sorry - Revane didn't clean up the photos but hopefully you can understand them.
