Review on Yizhet Bike Handlebar Extender Bracket - Lightweight and Durable Double Bicycle Extension for Holding Motorcycle, E-Bike Lamp, Speedometer, GPS, and Phone Mount Holder by Andrew Agarwal

Poor quality material, bad design, but you can make it work

This extension would work better on a mountain or comfort bike with straight handlebars than a road bike because the aluminum tube is too long for a 42" or 44" handlebar (the extension may get in the way of your fingers as you move between the hoods and the other two standard positions on the road handlebar). However, the tube is easily cut to length if necessary. For the Mounting on handlebars with a diameter of 31.8mm (this is the standard diameter these days) you must use the thin plastic insert that comes with the extension kit Clamp too loose without an insert, however with an insert it is difficult to get the bolt through the hole to be inserted into the threaded section of the clamp. The screw hole is narrow and long, so it is very directional; If the hole at the top n and the threaded hole below do not line up, as is bound to happen with an insert that somehow opens the clamp, the screw will not go into the thread. The hole had to be oval or larger in diameter. A metric hex key (2.5mm if I remember correctly) is supplied, but both the key and the screws are of poor quality, the metal is soft and the hex hole is easily damaged if you accidentally overtighten it (and between "not enough" and "too many, the distance is small). The quality of the black coating on the aluminum tube is poor and very easy to scratch. Well, it can be fixed with a black permanent marker. I have Bought two extensions and one had a scratch from the start, I used them to build a keyboard holder for an exercise bike and I eventually got them working for my purpose, although on a few occasions I felt like I could parts or damage screws when I tighten them because they are very easy to damage. .
