Review on 🍷 Le Creuset Wine Pump Replacement Stoppers: Set of 4 - Black by Mark Bennett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This design retains air many times better than Vacu Vin's smooth walls.

This is an essential tool when you are testing 10 different wines in one session and have 60% to 80% of the wine left to linger during . We've needed more corks recently, and if you type "wine corks" into the Amzn search box, the only brand that pops up is Vacu Vin. So, to our utter disappointment, we bought six cars of this brand. Here's the gist. Look for a stopper with multiple rows of thin flanges. This design retains air many times better than the smooth sides of the Vacu Vin, which is flangeless and relies on a conical shape that compresses firmly when inflated. After over a thousand capping sessions across multiple bottles in five years I can safely say that the flanges hold the vacuum much better than the smooth walled Vacu Vins and I always push the pump very aggressively on the top of the cork to get a smooth side cork to find a "house" and create a seal. This design works with multiple rows of flexible flanges. The smooth sides of the Vacu Vin don't work as well. So avoid the Vacu-Vin style if you expect the vacuum to last more than a few hours.
