Review on Shimano Brake Bleed Kit with 100ml Mineral Oil, Bleed Block/Rotor Correction Tool, 4 Allen Wrenches, and 7mm Wrench - Compatible with All Shimano Brakes by Brent Ayyagari

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I feel like I bought the best option. Professional kits are insanely expensive for the budget.

Best option for the money but damn. They really should include the 7mm wrench you see in the video, or a reasonable substitute. The €5 price increase is worth it. trying it with a tiny adjustable wrench was painful. Likewise. The job is best done with two people, although I was able to successfully complete the process on my own. I highly recommend that you go to a hardware store and buy a 7mm wrench (remember it has to fit in a limited space) before beginning this process. At Lowes, next to the sets of keys, there is a drawer where you can buy individual keys. There is enough oil to do two brakes, but the instructions say you have to do the process twice if your oil is dirty. At this point you will probably run out of breath and you may not want to start the second brake without more. While it's possible to stay almost clean, if you're new to it, chances are you'll spill at least some oil and your hands will get greasy, too. Have 2-3 towels or rags ready. The right wrench will definitely help prevent this and can make the process cleaner.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Not fashionable
