Installed them and also fitted a 2.5" lift to my 2014 JKU. I didn't have to cut the screw, my exhaust wasn't in the way. I used the AEV instructions for the installation and also didn't use the extra M14 screw that comes with each side but the standard screw which I have now taken out. The RE instructions aren't exactly terrible, but they are not very detailed unless you know what you are doing. . They're the same class, so it shouldn't matter. The driver's side upper arm uses one of those nuts, whatever they're called, and it's tricky to put back in. In the same place, it was removed after the struts, finally I held it with a sharp point and through the hole in the frame pushed onto the screw. On the passenger side, you could reach out and hold it with your hand. On the driver's side, the location of the exhaust pipe complicates the task. I lifted my jeep without them so I can't tell you the difference but my jeep drives great and feels almost stock. So I'm sure they're doing their job.
