Much better optics than most other inexpensive manual focus lenses (sharper, good contrast, no noticeable distortion, works well in backlit conditions). Nice. all metal and glass but not too heavy. Pleasant click feeling on the aperture ring. Focuses *very* close. And it's ready for Micro Four Thirds. This is my preferred focal length (35mm full frame equivalent) and if you need this focal length in a manual focus metal lens, this is the best option. The only thing that confuses me is that the distance markings on the focus ring are generally inaccurate, the infinity marking appears *much* earlier than actual focusing at infinity, and the ring's hard stop extends far beyond infinity focusing. So if I want to use a properly working focus ring I still have to go back to my old films. But it's good and I'll continue to use it often. However, I do have some regrets that I didn't save up for an Olympus 17mm f/1.8, which is smaller and much better, albeit twice the price.
