My experience with both rolled and flat leather collars shows that rolled collars like this will not break a dog's long coat
Only lasted 7 years! It began to crack and deform in the places of the bend, so I replace it with the same collar. My experience with both coiled and flat leather collars shows that coiled collars like this do not result in the dog's long hair breaking into a circle of shorter hair around the neck. I treated it with leather conditioner maybe twice, maybe it would last longer if I was more diligent. Of course, conditioners often soften the skin, so it's hard to say.
