🐶 Black Oak Tanned Leather Round Dog Collar - Coastal Circle T, 1" x 18 Review

I like this collar made in tough conditions and with great craftsmanship. The only problem I have is the difficulty in finding the right size. I ordered a 16" collar (albeit a different model) for my pup and it turned out to be too small. Then I ordered this 18 inch which is too loose even at the last hole. I'm still keeping it because it's so well made. My dog only wears this to wear tags and not walk on a leash so it's ok.

My dog's neck is only about 14 inches in circumference and it just fits him in the tightest setting without being too loose. He is still a puppy and can grow up to 18 inches with this collar. The collar is of excellent quality and I am very happy with the purchase. Rolled leather collars are great for dogs to pair with a traditional collar - I have a Standard Poodle and for this reason I need to use a leather collar. I definitely recommend this collar!

Only lasted 7 years! It began to crack and deform in the places of the bend, so I replace it with the same collar. My experience with both coiled and flat leather collars shows that coiled collars like this do not result in the dog's long hair breaking into a circle of shorter hair around the neck. I treated it with leather conditioner maybe twice, maybe it would last longer if I was more diligent. Of course, conditioners often soften the skin, so it's hard to say.

Just bought a second collar for my 5 month old puppy. My 10 month old puppy has one and has done great over the past few months. They fight and play all the time, biting each other. She even pulled on his collar with her teeth and it still looks brand new. The leather is not very stretchy but of decent quality and will soften over time. I have been using Circle T leather collars on my dogs for a number of years. I like that the rolled skin doesn't pull at the hair on the back of the neck or leave dents in the fur. The collar and buckle always did not discolour my Golden Retriever's lighter color and also my Sheltie's white coat when many other collars were discolored. I highly recommend this brand.
