I have two locks just like this. I leave one at work, in a covered parking lot, attached to a bike rack and use it on site 5 days a week. I carry the other one with me when I go somewhere. I had constant problems with this lock not being able to open, especially when I tried to walk - and couldn't because I couldn't free my bike. Even with careful key insertion, weekly cleaning and lubrication with appropriate materials, I still have regular lock sticking (for lack of a better term). The key does not turn fully and/or cannot be inserted fully, resulting in the user being unable to open the lock. Good times. My bike (at work) is actually a relatively safe place, and with as much trouble as I've had, I'm considering a less secure but less frustrating lock for everyday use. And this is from a man who had 15 bikes stolen in 20 years. Is it reliable, durable and otherwise great? Yes. But not opening it when I need it is a nightmare. Do a google search and this is a known issue that has been widely discussed around the web.
