This is a decent U lock but can still be cut

I have a mini U lock and kryptonite chain and I'll probably keep using it rather than another U shaped one to buy a lock. This was probably cut off on both sides with a chainsaw. Yes, in broad daylight in the middle of the street in Battery Park City, New York. We managed to return the bike but the lock doesn't work. No better than any of the others - maybe it slows down the cutting for a minute or two?

Pros
  • That's great
Cons
  • I'll add it later

The bike is still being stolen with this supposedly heavy lock

I attached this lock to my bike on the bike stand near my apartment as soon as I received it. Four days later my bike was stolen. The attackers managed to pick the lock without cutting the lock. Although it seems judging by the tracks on the side of the castle, they tried. They seem to have somehow managed to take the lock apart because when I try to put the lock back together it doesn't fit back in as technically it was still locked. Also, their guarantee is bullshit and doesn't work on used…

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Heavy but really saves time when locking electric scooters

If you have an electric scooter (I have m365 and 9bot max) you have probably already realized that this bike stand lock can be a problem. I bought this lock thinking I would only use it in the most deprived areas. I found this lock handy though, which is why I use it most of the time. It's not a panacea, but its size fits many (not all) bike racks. In addition, your scooter is protected throughout the deck. I think thieves can cut your scooter in half to get it, but that's the only security…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

The only U-lock you can get for "not if, but if " bike theft attempts.

This is my second U-lock in New York, the second is the smaller Fahgettaboutit U-lock (which is probably more secure than this one). You are ridiculously fat. Before you buy, seriously look at the weight so you know what you need. Get the smallest U-lock that fits your bike. The smaller NY Fahghetaboutit ONLY fits a street tire, a frame and a regular bike rack or meter stand. You don't need space there, it allows you to put a hydraulic jack and break the lock. This larger one is needed for…

Hard to Very Hard

I bought one of these to try first as our LectricBikes frames are quite thick and the first two locks weren't long enough or strong enough like E- Bikes seems to be the first choice of bike thieves these days. My bike was stolen and I've been very careful ever since. This is the second of these locks that I have bought as the first passed the test and we have two of these bikes. Locks only go from the frame to a fixed object if they are used to lock the bike to that fixed object, but at least…

Sturdy but still has chronic disc problems/difficult to open

I have two locks just like this. I leave one at work, in a covered parking lot, attached to a bike rack and use it on site 5 days a week. I carry the other one with me when I go somewhere. I had constant problems with this lock not being able to open, especially when I tried to walk - and couldn't because I couldn't free my bike. Even with careful key insertion, weekly cleaning and lubrication with appropriate materials, I still have regular lock sticking (for lack of a better term). The key…

Great lock for sure. Would have been 5 stars although a few things.

My cheaper kryptonite lock broke so I decided to get a stronger one. In general, the quality and assembly are good. It's definitely durable (to scale: 70.3 oz, 4.4 lb) and good looking. Problems: 1) At first I thought they sent the wrong one. The dimensions of this lock are listed in the product description as 10.25" x 4". These are internal dimensions, not overall dimensions. I understood when he came. I measured it at 13 x 7 inches overall, so it's longer. The description didn't give any clue

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick guide
