I was hoping to use them as replacement shelf brackets in my glass fronted Ikea Hemnes cabinets. The shelf brackets that come with Hemnes cabinets are problematic - the shelves can slide to the back of the cabinet and slide off the front brackets, or they can bounce off the brackets. I was looking for a solution to prevent the shelves from falling. I tried using these shelf supports in combination with 3/4" wood screws. I thought the shelf would sit in the L-shaped portion of the bracket, but the cabinet wasn't wide enough for this (the shelves needed a bit of sanding to to fit). Instead, I flipped them over so the shelf was on top of the L. After attaching it to the wood shelf with four 3/4" screws, the shelves felt solid and sturdy. .The problem, however, was, that these shelf brackets didn't fit snugly into the openings in the cabinets. This allowed them to shift even when all four were bolted to the shelves. One shelf kept seeming to be stuck, but then fell off at the slightest touch. Trust now I don't like the other shelves although they seem to be firmly anchored so I think I'll try to use L brackets which I can screw into both the shelves and the sides of the cabinets I gave them btw anyway Giving stars because they appear to be well made - they are not flimsy or warped. But they didn't work for my purpose.
