Review on AFe Power Silver 46 32005 Throttle by Mike Sevenfourgd

This item was well packaged and comes with all parts. The installation is not difficult even for a beginner like me. I installed the item by reading the instructions and watching a few videos. Simple enough, no rocket science. I even listened to all the warnings about over tightening to avoid dislodging the plastic intake manifold (what idiot thought that up). I took the throttle body off, cleaned it thoroughly, cleaned the gasket and picked it up. Put the o-ring back on with some silicone grease, then put the gasket on top, then the gasket, then put the throttle body back on. New oversized screws inserted and tightened. I took a torque wrench, set the inch-pounds, and then proceeded to remove the two bolts. :(Are you kidding?!? 48lbs on two of them seemed fine but the other two had issues. Well it's in place, let's see how it works. Probably since a new air intake costs almost $500 .I'll give it to him, full throttle baby! Barely touched the gas pedal and warp speed. Throttle response is amazing. Had to relearn how to drive a truck. Really like it. Screws, that high pitched whistle is annoying. The description says that the whistle wasn't supposed to be but reading a lot of reviews on other sites they were all talking about the whistle I figured it was because the gasket wasn't tight enough with the two stripped screws it took a couple of weeks and I finally got mad. On the advice of my friends who are car junkies and mechanics, I wanted to fix the holes I had cleaned. I disassembled everything again, checked everything quickly and was about to start a very long repair process ss when something caught my eye. I held the factory bolts in one hand and lengthened the new ones in the other as I thought they looked thinner than the factory bolts. I took my calipers and enough. the factory was 5.7mm wide and the new ones were 5.35mm wide. So the good news is that I didn't cut the holes. The new ones just didn't fit. I ran the old ones back into the holes to make sure the threads were intact and had to figure out what to do with the new bolts. To get my width back, I wrapped the new bolts in teflon tape until my calipers read 5.7mm. This is a temporary fix until I get to the store to buy new screws. I took everything back. Things fit better, but the torque wrench was no longer used, just in case. The whistling has subsided a bit but seems very active on warm days, I don't hear it on cold mornings. I can even here it's above Eminem's maximum volume. If I find suitable screws I will update this post, if not then for all the power I will not tolerate whistling.
