I got this to replace my old USB 3.0 card reader: Kingston Digital USB 3.0 Super Speed Multi-Card Reader. This USB-C reader is much faster. I ran a speed test on my Lexar 300MB/s SD card: Lexar Professional 2000x 64GB SDXC UHS-II Card. Using CrystalDiskMark, this SanDisk reader returned 244 MB/s, while the same SD card with my old Kingston USB 3.0 reader only managed 73 MB/s. That's 3.3x the read speed of USB-C compared to USB 3.0. has significant weight and appears to be "less cheap" than the Kingston reader. The Kingston reader is so light that the weight of its USB cable sometimes twists it so it can't lie flat on my desktop PC table. That's not the case with this SanDisk reader, which appears to be a higher quality reader for its higher price. If you really want the highest quality and fastest speed from a card reader, check out ProGrade devices like CFexpress Type B and SD UHS-II Dual. - Slot for reading memory cards. I think it's metal. They also support USB 3.2 Gen 2 and can read even faster than plain old USB-C, but they're even more expensive than this SanDisk reader.
