It must be sold with a thermostat.

This part had to be removed to install a new thermostat on my 2015 Chevrolet Sonic. The core usually breaks because it is very brittle from the heat the engine is exposed to. Buy this item just in case. If you don't break yours, send back a new one. If you break it, be glad you have a part so you don't get stuck in the middle of work without it.
