This is not real brass. As another review said they break very easily if over tightened and when they do break you can see the inner metal is silver colored with the texture of cheap cast aluminum/steel (or tin). I call this "pop metal" because it falls apart easily and looks like sand on a broken surface. They are aluminum, non-magnetic. Melt one if you don't believe me. Unfortunately they aren't brass, they still worked, it was one of the only listings that had a filament length to really get the right ones and not a lousy multipack. That's the only reason I went with them.
