Very high quality polished solid brass.

Very good quality solid and polished brass. Looks great on a leather belt. Fast shipping, item arrived within a few days. Suggest using nail polish on the threads before screwing them to the brass base to keep them from coming loose. This ensures their tightness and reliability.

Make sure you know the thickness of the materials you're collecting.

Perfect fit for my project. (skin to skin and skin to thin metal) Did it as someone mentioned and put some nail polish on the steps before assembly to keep the screw in place. If you use them for the right thickness of material I don't see how they can't work for you.

Good quality solid brass

Let me first say that I only use the internally threaded portion of the pen in a non-standard application, so I cannot comment on its normal operation. What I can say about the product is that it is made of solid brass. It has no coating, paint, or any chemical finish used to change its appearance. As it is solid brass and has no visible surface finishing I believe it will tarnish to a brownish gold color over time which may be just what is needed.

Not brass. on Leathercraft Accessories

This is not real brass. As another review said they break very easily if over tightened and when they do break you can see the inner metal is silver colored with the texture of cheap cast aluminum/steel (or tin). I call this "pop metal" because it falls apart easily and looks like sand on a broken surface. They are aluminum, non-magnetic. Melt one if you don't believe me. Unfortunately they aren't brass, they still worked, it was one of the only listings that had a filament length to really get
